Avishek Pradhan is a visual artist based in Jhapa, currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts at Kathmandu University. With a passion for human anatomy and figurative elements, Avishek has been creating art from a young age, often exploring the relationship between color and environment in his practice.

He enjoys painting plein-air landscapes, which he believes bring him closer to nature. Avishek has participated in numerous exhibitions and workshops, continuously refining his skills and expanding his artistic expression.

In his latest series, An Aquarium, Avishek explores the concept of love—a feeling he has consumed through movies, poems, songs, and others’ experiences, yet never personally felt. The series portrays an imaginative, optimistic interpretation of love, depicted as a story between the Ocean and the Air. The Ocean, represented by a lost, suffocating goldfish, finds solace and warmth in the Air, symbolized by a female figure. Together, they create a comforting space, depicted through the soothing hues of green and blue, symbolizing an aquarium —a home where the once cold and monochrome soul finds warmth and belonging.
