Shared Terrain is an exhibition presented by Danfe Arts at the prestigious platform of the India Art Fair 2026, held from February 5–8, 2026. Mapping the layered complexities of contemporary Kathmandu, the exhibition looks beyond the surface realities of rapid urbanisation and modernity to uncover the living narratives that continue to shape the city. Through diverse artistic practices, Shared Terrain brings into focus stories and mythologies, spirituality and ritual, inherited craftsmanship, and community-centered modes of making that remain deeply embedded in everyday life.
Rather than positioning Kathmandu’s cultural, spiritual, artistic, and architectural legacies as remnants of a distant past, the exhibition frames them as adaptive and evolving forces that inform present-day identities and worldviews. Each work exists in dialogue between past and present, tracing how tradition transforms, persists, and redefines itself within a rapidly changing urban landscape.
